The male reproductive system has prostate and seminal vesicles as its part. Located below the bladder and in front of the rectum, a prostate is of the size as a walnut. It produces seminal fluid which nourishes and transports the sperm. It is one of the most common cancer. Prostate cancer most of the time grows slowly and is only limited within the prostate gland which leads to the best chance of survival. And to note some of the types of prostate cancer grow slowly and may require least or no treatment. However, other types are aggressive and can spread quickly.

Almost all prostate cancers are adenocarcinomas. Others are:

  • Small cell carcinomas
  • Neuroendocrine tumors (other than small cell carcinomas)
  • Transitional cell carcinomas
  • Sarcomas
